senior u.s. and european officials tell us is a credible threat of a major coordinated series of attacks in britain, france and possibly the u.s. the official said no specific time or place was known, but that the plan -- involving commando like attacks against economic targets in europe -- had been detected after the capture this summer of a radicalized german muslim who reportedly had been training with teams of others in pakistan for the attacks. now a worldwide manhunt is underway. among those being sought are a group of other radicalized germans who have been training at terror camps in pakistan, producing videos in german to gain more recruits. german officials say some of the recruits actually came from the same mosque in hamburg where the 9/11 hijackers gathered. the mosque was closed in early august after officials learned of the plot. >> most of these guys share a very pronounced anti-americanism. >> reporter: officials believe at least one team of german jihadists was dispatched to europe over the summer, travelling on german passports which require no visa to enter th

news -- >> thanks for joining us on this tuesday. in waldorf we are told that crews had just rescued a man who fell into oil well -- a well. there's a point station there. a county worker fell into the well that is 30 feet deep. this was just moments ago. >>> also, a community is waiting for word on a two-year- old polehinke who -- two-year old boy who shot himself in the chest. >> residents in this hagerstown community are shocked and saddened and pressing for the life of two-year-old mario longus. >> very unfortunate. >> this happened early monday morning where they found political bullet inside shot in the chest. the toddler found the gun under a bed and began playing with it before it went off. danny was rushed to children's national medical center where he is in critical condition. crisis is sad. -- >> it is sad. first of all: the baby doing up late at 1:30 in the morning. >> his 16-year-old brother marcus longus is in custody. 17-year-old fantasia rivera was arrested as well. she tried to hide the gun on a nearby playground after the shooting. the teenagers face multiple charges.

>> and once again, we say good morning, washington. we are glad you're joining us. for the second straight morning, we're waking up with scattered rain showers. let's get straight to your traffic and weather. lisa is standing by with the latest on how all of this is affecting your commute. first, meteorologist adam caskey. what's the latest? >> a flash flood watch in effect until 8:00 a.m. and then big changes coming, this just in the next couple of hours. the flash flood watch is almost for the entire viewing area. it does include the metro area in parts of virginia and maryland. so let's go to the doppler 7 radar. the temperatures shown in yellow. notice the yellow and the red on the radar? the very heavy rainfall clipping fairfax county. it is going to cross over the potomac and into frederick county and then hagerstown as well momentarily this morning. otherwise, a few spotty, light showers going on the high temperature about 83, becoming less humid. we'll dry out and have a fair amount of sunshine. more rainfall later this week. >> while you were sleeping there was a crash on

vietnam. again, young gis caught up in a difficult war, accused of widespread drug use and the random killing of innocent civilians apparently for sport or thrills. this is what is called forward operating base ram rod in southern afghanistan. the place where the military says these five american soldiers all in their 20s from the 2nd infantry division conspired to kill innocent, unarmed afghan civilians in nearby villages. on a videotaped confession obtained by abc news, one of the five soldiers charged with murder, corporal jeremy morlock, casually described how his sergeant, calvin gibbs, seen here in a high school photo, had the men in the unit help pick out afghan civilians at random and then kill them with grenades and rifle fire. >> you know, he pulled out one of his grenades, an american grenade, you know, popped it, throws the grenade and then, you know, tells me, winfield, all right, you know, kill this guy, kill this guy. >> reporter: army investigators say sergeant gibbs' alleged killing sprees became widely known at the ram rod base. 22-year-old specialist adam win
